Phase 2 for RFM Camp 2020

We are excited to be able to open Rock Fish Meadows for 2020 Summer Camp using ACA/CDC (American Camping Association/Centers for Disease Control) guidelines under Phase 2 for COVID 19. Guidelines will change if our governor allows Phase 3 protocols for summer camps.

The key is to limit exposure through distance and time and follow health screening and cleaning practices as guided. To limit exposure of going back and forth to home and other places, we will not be having day campers.

To protect our elderly, any camper whose only guardian is over 60 years of age is not recommended to come. Each cabin will be assigned a 30-minute time for check-in between 3:00 and 5:00 on Sunday. We recommend that only one parent drop off campers and that no grandparents or guardians over 60 come. To further limit exposure, no visitors will be allowed during the week.

Each cabin (with a maximum of 13 campers and 2 staff members) will maintain themselves as an independent family unit during the week with minimal contact with others at camp. Large group activities will be reduced and will require specific distancing protocols.

Campers will be trained in handwashing and will follow these and other procedures throughout the time at camp. Counselors will see that campers make their beds with an alternate head-to-toe arrangement—for maintaining the 6-feet recommended distance between campers. This distancing will be practiced as normal protocol. Campers will bring their own cloth mask and will use them when checking in and when leaving. They may be required to use them at other times—per staff instruction.

For the ten days prior to camp, parents will keep a temperature log (form to be provided) for your child. Bring this form to camp at registration. Each morning, nurses will fill out a symptom-screening form on counselors and campers. We will use a touchless thermometer.

In spite of these guidelines, we expect camp to be a wonderful relief from the restrictions of the last few months. Fun times will be had by all! Keep us in prayer as we prepare for your arrival! We are praying for YOU!
